A leading challenger bank who has made their mark as being a specialist lender and savings bank are recruiting within the treasury department for a specialist in banking book market risk. This opportunity is open to applicants who are invested in building on their existing experience, in particular within a broader role to increase their exposure to all aspects of balance sheet management.
Role Description
- Within the treasury function the Asset and Liability Management (ALM) team are responsible for the operation and development of frameworks around Interest Rate Risk in the banking book (IRRBB) and Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP). This hire will support both FTP and IRRBB.
Role Requirements
- Understanding of a retail or commercial banks’ balance sheet with associated product knowledge (for e.g. Optionality in non-tradable products) and associate risks – repricing, embedded options and basis risk
- Some experience with Interest Rate Risk and an understanding from first principles (Pv01, EVE, EAR and VaR etc), or similar with FTP
- Alternatively, experience in other areas of Treasury (Liquidity or Capital) or even Treasury Finance, or Finance Business Partnering would be seen as an advantage
- Strong modelling and analytical skills with a keen to desire to greatly enhance modelling skills
- Advanced stakeholder management skills with proven ability in engaging and positively influencing
