We have been mandated by one of Europe’s leading sustainable banks to find them a Senior hire to lead their Enterprise Risk team . This a pivotal role for the Bank by leading proactive, effective and proportionate risk management oversight in the 2nd Line. Your team will look after Enterprise-wide Risk Financial Risk, Risk Reporting and Data Analytics for 2nd Line, and Operational Risk. This is a permanent role and offers flexible hybrid working, typically this will require you to work from the Bristol based office at least 2 days per week.
Role Description
- Maintenance and development of the Bank’s Risk Strategy, Enterprise-Wide Risk Management Framework, Risk Appetite and Risk Taxonomy
- Oversight of Prudential, Operational and Enterprise-wide Risks (Strategic, Reputational, Models and Financial Risks from Climate Change)
- PRA relationship and prudential regulatory horizon scanning
- Frameworks and Policies owned in the 2nd Line relating to Financial, Operational and Enterprise-wide Risks
- Engagement across other 2nd Line Heads and respective teams (Compliance and Credit), 1st Line stakeholders, and the Group Operational Risk, Enterprise Risk and Financial Risk Management teams
- 2nd Line reporting of the Bank’s risk profile, with escalation of risks or and issues outside of appetite, both internally and externally
Role Requirements
- Strategic thinking with highly developed analytical skills, and proven, focused planning and project management skills
- Extensive professional experience of working in a financial services organisation or regulator, including within a 3 Lines of Defence model and strong knowledge of UK financial services regulation
- Proven ability to build strong relationships and influence at all levels of the business with credibility and friendly professionalism, also with external auditors and regulators
- Able to combine an independent opinion with a constructive, cooperative attitude, in which the relationship is important, acting as both a self-starter and team player, able to work both autonomously and collaboratively, proactively seeing tasks through to completion
- Excellent understanding of the UK prudential regulatory regime
- Strong organisational and communication (written and oral) skills with a high attention to detail and the ability to explain and adapt best practice to the Bank’s environment
