We are running an exclusive search campaign for a series of exciting senior opportunities to join the Treasury Division of one of the UK’s leading larger Building Societies. The third of the three Senior Manager level roles will play a key role in shaping and delivering their balance sheet strategy. As a recognised subject matter expert, you will drive safe and sustainable growth by optimising balance sheet performance ensuring robust management of interest rate risk. The Society offer hybrid working and will require a minimum of 8 days a month in Cardiff with a very flexible approach to how that is accomplished

Role Description

Lead the Society's approach to Interest Rate Risk in the Banking Book (IRRBB)
Influence strategic balance sheet decisions through market, economic and regulatory insight
Drive the development of market risk frameworks, governance and risk appetite
Deliver stress testing, forecasting and scenario analysis to support effective risk management
Provide clear, insightful reporting to senior leadership and governance committees
Ensure compliance with regulatory reporting and disclosure requirements
Work closely with Treasury, Finance, Product and Risk teams to optimise balance sheet performance
Lead strategic projects that enhance resilience, improve risk management and support business growth

Role Requirements

Strong experience in a Treasury, Finance, Risk, or Balance Sheet Management leadership role
Deep expertise in Market Risk and Interest Rate Risk Management within a banking or building society environment
Excellent understanding of balance sheet dynamics, ALM techniques, and financial markets
Strong knowledge of regulatory expectations relating to market risk and IRRBB
Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and communicate complex issues clearly
Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills
A proactive leader with strong ownership, initiative, and a passion for continuous improvement
